Slavic Livins Produces On Avant’s Newest Album
Chicago, IL, September 16, 2015 – Since its inception in 2005 FMG Studios has been building its reputation and clientele due in large part to the efforts of its co- owner/producer/audio engineer, Slavic Livins. With the release of Avant’s new album, The VIII, on September 25th, Livins debuts his latest collaboration with the R&B singer/songwriter. In addition to his engineering work on this album, The VIII marks Slavic’s return to production.
2Slavic Livins has been in the industry for the better part of two decades. Early on, Livins gained acclaim for his production work on re-mixes for John Legend, Korn, Amerie and Omarion. Later he began focusing on his engineering skills, which led him to mix and master for the likes of Snoop Dog, Keyshia Cole, Day 26 and Dietrick Haddon. He achieved RIAA Platinum status for his work with Cisco, RIAA Gold for his work with Joe, and a Grammy nomination for a track he did with Syleena Johnson. Most recently the single “By My Side,” mixed and mastered by Livins for singer/rapper Nick De La Hoyde, reached #13 on the radio charts. A year ago Livins made the decision to return to producing. This led to song placement on the new album of one of Chicago’s breakout young talents,Yemi Marie, followed by placement on Avant’s upcoming release The VIII. He has also begun production work with Carl Thomas. “Working in this industry is extremely humbling, each new project feels like starting over in a way,’ says Livins. Livins attributes his success to his ability to reinvent himself and continue learning.
Livins worked with Avant on his first album My Thoughts, which generated the Top 40 hit “Separated” and reached RIAA Platinum status. Avant and Livins are optimistic that by teaming up again they can reignite the same magic on this release. Livins engineered the album and produced the track “I’m Not Telling,” which brings a modern twist to the classic R&B sound. The VIII is due out September 25th and is available for pre-order now on iTunes, Amazon and Google play.
